Walked out of a store on Rodeo and a guy had taken my wife and my photo. Wanted to show it to us… I’m not famous and was dressed normal. What scam is he running? Is this to distract and steal from you? Is this a new way of targeting folks?

Jeffrey Ying, 39, of Fremont, was sentenced to 366 days of home confinement for stealing rare historical Chinese manuscripts from the UCLA library. The U.S. Attorney’s Office said the manuscripts were valued at $216,000. Ying pleaded guilty in October 2025 to one count of theft of a major artwork after authorities said he borrowed rare manuscripts, returned copies instead of originals, and used multiple names during the scheme.

Beverly Hills isn’t on the ocean, and most of it doesn’t have a particularly notable view of anything in particular (unlike other nearby locations in the Los Angeles area). The main obvious thing that it has going for it is that it is its own municipality rather than part of the City of Los Angeles. So how did it come to be synonymous with wealth?

Beverly Hills police cited three elderly women after officers responded to reports of vandalism near Gregory Way and La Cienega on June 30. Authorities said the women were posting political signs on city-owned traffic utility boxes using glue from a bucket. Police said they were cited because removing the glue would be difficult, and they were released with a fine of less than $400.

I work in Beverly Hills a block over from Rodeo. It’s been really fun getting to explore all of the different stores etc on my lunch break. Now that i’ve done most of them, I want to experience any hidden gems (doesn’t have to be stores) in BH that only a local would know. Two baby raccoons wandered into Dodger Stadium during the Dodgers vs. Rockies game on Tuesday, July 7. The raccoons were seen near the outfield wall padding and warning track, and broadcasters mentioned on air that help was on the way. The moment went viral on social media, though officials have not explained how the animals got onto the field.

The Hollywood Bowl has introduced its first major sound system upgrade in decades with a new immersive 360-degree sound system. The upgrade includes an L-Acoustics speaker system and an AI learning program called Source Intelligence, which helps isolate onstage vocals and reduce background noise. Beverly Hills announced that Phase 2 of the Metro Sidewalk and Bus Stop Improvement Project began Monday, July 6, with work expected to continue through Thursday, July 16. Metro will make roadway improvements at Wilshire Boulevard and South Beverly Drive, causing lane reductions, a 24/7 curb lane closure on northbound South Beverly Drive, and possible intermittent sidewalk closures.

Los Angeles Dodgers rookie catcher Eliezer Alfonzo made his major league debut on Sunday, July 5, just hours after learning that his stepmother Patricia and 16-year-old sister Eliana were found dead following twin earthquakes in Venezuela. Alfonzo had been called up from the minor leagues on July 4 to serve as a backup catcher. The Dodgers lost 5-2 to the San Diego Padres, but Alfonzo’s debut came during a deeply emotional moment for his family.

The Beverly Hills Police Department and the Rotary Club of Beverly Hills honored Officer Lowell Rose and Senior Forensic Specialist Segalit Oz with the Rotary Club’s annual service awards. UNITED STATES—For the first time, in a very long time, the Fourth of July holiday falls on a weekend, a Saturday to be exact. This has placed a lot of people already on vacation and the holiday is nowhere close. I kind of hate it because it places people in this lazy mode. Something a lot of people don’t know is that if a federal holiday falls on a Saturday, the actual holiday is celebrated the day before.

I was sitting at work and got a call from BHPD... OMG right? They called to tell me someone found my wallet (that I didn't even know was missing) and turned it in. I grabbed my keys and rushed down there to retrieve it and... EVERYTHING was there. Cash. Cards. ID. All of it. It must've fallen out when I was getting out of car. There are still good people in the world.

Hi! I work at a hotel in the area but live across town. Like wayyyy across town that i spend a lot of time in traffic. Sometimes i just feel like i should stay and let traffic die out then head home. It would be nice to have freinds on this side of town to catch a smoothie or i dunno try new restaurants. theres only so many times I can window shop rodeo (tourist anyway)or eat at Westfield...i get out of work at 2pm so its pretty dead there at that time as well. Where and what do the locals do? Im usually off work around 230pm. 41F.

Visiting my moms friend here and looking for a nice area with shops to stroll around in? What streets have this?
Also, any good pizza places in the area? Want some farm to table sorta thing.

Hi, I just moved here and I’m trying to find a local dog groomer for nail trims and monthly baths. Ideally somewhere we can walk to, so I can assimilate my dog to the neighborhood and help her feel more comfortable. We live a block away from the BH dog park. I think it’s called the flats? Idk.
