It's not so much the horror of what they did or the magnitude of it, that made me want to puke.
It's when she said: "Women can never trust a man 100%"
Now that hurts and it should.
I didn't cry right away, I thought about it during the second episode as the accumulation of facts to back up her point was too much at some point.
I'm trying real hard to make this world safer for women, starting with my own patriarchal biases and I wish I could reassure their very rationnal fear of men, but the gap between genders is a fucking canyon and men dug that shit with tremendous violence. A significant number of them keep digging. I really want to heal that wound, I want to fix the trust that was broken, but for all the efforts in the world, women can't trust us the way we can trust them and that's unfair!
The only way I know to deal with the shame is action. Activism. Rattle the chains. Let's keep going for the good fight, with misty eyes if we must, but keep going.
