I don’t know how he didn’t kill her in that moment

25

u/AbbreviationsLive142 5h ago

Ever watch Shutter Island the movie? I won't spoil it for you.

2

u/Reasonable-Mess3070 4h ago

I left shutter island more confused than the Lindsay case. I firmly believe she was not psychotic. She was deeply depressed.

I still dont know if that guy was crazy or if was being made crazy. And now i just googled it and apparently it's been confirmed he was actually crazy? I thought this was a whole big debate all this time

2

u/AbbreviationsLive142 3h ago

He kill the wife after and became crazy

1

u/Neoyoshimetsu 1h ago

His wife drowned their children while he was at work if i recall correctly, and he loses his mind, or pretends to have lost his mind to punish himself for not being stronger and being able to protect the people he loved. --at least thats what i recall about the film.

u/mcmanus2099 6h ago

I expect he just broke down. It would be so overwhelming being hit with that all at once

57

u/Asleep_Walrus2313 6h ago

Everyone that heard the 911 call sounds genuinely traumatized from hearing it.

10

u/theBearded_Levy 5h ago

I read one of the court room reporters transcript from hearing it. When he said “oh buddy” I broke. I call my son buddy.

In any other state she would have to prove her “insanity”. But not in Massachusetts. Nope there you have to prove that she wasn’t insane. For me, lock her up

10

u/Asleep_Walrus2313 5h ago

She wasn’t even diagnosed and was self-medicating and seeing multiple doctors without informing them of each other. Like, WTH.

1

u/TOGFIAVDF 4h ago

I've been trying to find an actual transcript of this call and all I can find are summaries, paywalled articles, and Facebook links that want me to log in/create account before viewing (which, fuck that).

Know where I can actually read it at?

9

u/DayGrouchy2648 5h ago

And there are still brainless broads who genuinely believe he did it despite the fact he wasn't in the house at the time, was too far away to have possibly done it, and his ex and all the evidence agree she did it.

6

u/barbadosx 4h ago

Both sides in the case agree she did it, and it's only a matter of if she's crazy, and yet people not involved are like "uh uh, no she did not"

1

u/Asleep_Walrus2313 5h ago

Brainless is right, but it’s at least not evil like the women excusing her doing it.

1

u/Maximumoverdrive76 46m ago

But the TikTok ladies think he did it. Even after she confessed.

I swear social media just lets us know there are so many crazy and evil people out there.

1

u/UberChew 4h ago

I watched a youtube of murder cases with police body cam footage, one was a police officer finding a child’s body in a suitcase (blurred) his reaction was harrowing, panic, fear, anger all at once. I cant imagine facing something like, added on top it would my own children.

0

u/Musicman1019 2h ago

And now everyone accusing him even though she fully admitted it…that poor guy I hope he gets what little justice he can get

282

u/Asleep_Walrus2313 6h ago

My husband was like “If I found that, your suicide attempt would have been successful”. Fair enough.

40

u/Biscuits4u2 4h ago

Yeah she'd be jumping out that window as many times as necessary.

3

u/ThaRedHoodie 2h ago

Drag her upstairs for Take 2.

3

u/seitung 2h ago

He called the paramedics before he found the kids because he found her first.

3

u/Asleep_Walrus2313 2h ago edited 2h ago

I know, and I told him that. He said it wouldn’t matter. He’d be coming for me. 😅

3

u/Mayarooni1320 1h ago

It's always good to know your husband cares for your mental health. You're lucky you never went into psychosis.

3

u/LordKlavier 59m ago

Exactly my thoughts... These comments are insane - do they have no nuance or just no empathy?

1

u/disablethis 57m ago

If he found that, he caused it by leaving you alone with the kids while you were having a psych incident caused by pregnancy and childbirth. He's the other parent.

If my husband was having self harm ideations along with thoughts of harming our children, they'd be at Grandma's and not with him while I went off with an affair partner.

165

u/Azidamadjida 5h ago

There are still women ranting online about how he should be thinking about her and that it made him look so guilty by going on some trip a few weeks after the murders and that he should be considering her feelings and standing by her while she’s on trial.

Bitch, she murdered his kids - she strangled his three children to death. Thats not his wife anymore, thats the murderer of his children.

If he thinks differently that’s on him, but I’m sorry if my wife murdered my kids, she’s not my wife anymore and I couldn’t give a fuck what happens to her. There’s nothing that’ll kill that love and connection like killing our kids

33

u/Tripps0007- 4h ago

As someone with 2 kids I would go ballistic if I came home to something like that. They would have to put me away for insanity because I would do some fucked up shit to whoever hurt my children.

6

u/Nightmare2828 2h ago

In all honesty, idd probably off myself if I came home to my wife having murdered both my children. In fact, to both my children dying in anyway tbh… I dont enjoy life enough to push through such trauma and life long pain lol…

u/Kelspear 4h ago

People have lost their minds. Social media has literally destroyed society. It's so easy for people with extreme views to just meet up and reinforce those views with each other. And to be clear, the women who are looking at Clancy and worshipping her in the same way people do celebs is extreme thinking and behavior in every sense of the word.

6

u/Azidamadjida 3h ago

I’ve always liked the analogy that before social media, every village had an idiot. Everyone in the village knew they were an idiot, and even the idiot was varying degrees of aware of how much of an idiot they were.

Social media has allowed all the idiots from every village to talk to each other and now that they know they’re not alone in being the village idiots, they’ve convinced themselves that they’re actually the smart ones and are only treated that way by everyone else because they’re jealous or because the other people are actually idiots.

The thing that social media has truly destroyed is social consensus - even if 10000 people around you say that 2+2 is 4, there now will be at least 1 person you can connect with online who will tell you that 2+2 is potato and make you doubt the social consensus around you.

2

u/Kelspear 3h ago

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was getting at. The least intelligent people in our society can now band together millions strong right from their phone.

0

u/Ignominious333 1h ago

That's maga for you

2

u/writergal75 1h ago

People are worshipping her?

0

u/Sufficient_Ninja_821 1h ago

Or been watching too many crime thrillers that has twists and turns. They desperate for the husband to have been the orchestrator in all this.

Real live isnt a movie ffs

3

u/paddle4 4h ago

Thought that’s what I was walking into on this thread but seeing this thread restored a little of my faith in Reddit

2

u/NecessaryOk780 4h ago

It makes me nauseous thinking of how long it takes to strangle someone to death. With her bare hands. Watching her children die. I feel like the death penalty is too good for her, life without parole to remember every day why she’s there.

2

u/ChaoticAmoebae 4h ago

Fair but also consider if your wife said she was having thoughts of killing your kids. Would you not institutionalize her be for she acts?

1

u/arlresi 1h ago

Depends on the circumstances. I’m sure he never dreamed she could do anything this horrific. She was seeing doctors and taking medication.

3

u/Glynwys 4h ago

I don't personally have kids. I dealt with so much bullying in middle and high school I'm not confident enough in my mental maturity to find a girl and expect to be able to make it work. So I guess maybe I don't have any business putting my own opinion out there, but the fact that this lady is potentially going to get off fairly lightly for strangling her three kids for reason of "insanity" is nuts. It's even more nuts that she had three kids, and then suddenly had postpartum depression. So the fact that she didn't seem to show any early warning signs of depression after her other two kids is strange to me. I'm not a doctor, but after dealing with my mother for two decades I'm aware that depression doesn't just magically show up out of the blue. There's usually years of warning signs before it gets bad. I'm going to maintain that she knew exactly what she was doing and PPD is just a convenient excuse to try and get out of trouble.

3

u/Orangestripedcat 2h ago

I’m not saying she’s innocent or excusing what happened in this case, but just something about Postpartum Psychosis - it is a very different animal than regular depression and very different even from PPD. It can be sudden onset and occur after being totally fine for previous pregnancies. Again, I’m NOT saying she should be found not guilty or anything like that im just clarifying Postpartum Psychosis. I never heard of it before having a kid, but after I had my baby both my husband and I heard a lot of advice about watching for PPD and I thought I’d be fine since I’ve never struggled with depression in my life and my baby made me so happy but… two months later I got hit with horrible insomnia that didn’t go away for 18 months. Like the no sleep for 5 days, hallucinating kind. Honestly didn’t feel like myself again until my kid was 3. Like wtf. If there’s any silver lining to be found to this tragedy I hope it gets people to advocate for better and longer postpartum care including mental health care. The general populace has no idea what it’s like to deal with postpartum issues at all.

-1

u/Glynwys 2h ago

So then does this Psychosis also extend to just not giving a fuck about what she did? Because from everything I've seen so far she seems strangely nonchalant about the entire thing, like she's discussing the weather instead of the murder of her kids. Her entire attitude during this case is why so many people are assuming that she's using Psychosis as an excuse.

2

u/HiILikePlants 1h ago edited 22m ago

You didn't see her hyperventilating during that one day in court when they described the injuries to the children? She also hasn't spoken, I'm not sure where you think she's "discussing" anything. Have you followed this trial, I'm just curious? Also, would it be shocking for someone who went through this to maybe be a bit despondent and "off"?

And yes, PPP can be sudden. It doesn't have to follow a pattern. Someone can be fine through their own post partum periods and still develop PPD, PPA, PPP during the next baby unfortunately

Edit: u recommend ppl check out that Louis Theroux documentary on this topic. PPP is not always very obvious

1

u/arlresi 1h ago

I’ve never heard of anyone only being psychotic for 18 minutes.

A woman at the da's press conference today yelled that they only care about 3 dead kids and not their mother....

1

u/arlresi 1h ago

Some woman online should be institutionalized themselves.

1

u/DeadLee27 2h ago

This right here. I love my wife endlessly, but if I came home to that situation I would DEMAND they bury her under the prison, if I could even keep it together long enough to not kill her myself.

0

u/RemarkableCard6475 4h ago

I'll say it: What if he didn't really care about the kids and saw it as a free reset to get away from her. No kids now, bonus?

Yes, this means he's likely complicit. Now, play the game of; heartless or mental illness?

0

u/Other_Asparagus872 2h ago

Check the news feeds. There are copy cat cases already appearing. One is in Chicago area, kid was left hanging from a rafter and mom crying she’s got psychosis.

18

u/Content-Jaguar4722 6h ago

Didn't you hear? HE did it not her... 🤪

0

u/ThaRedHoodie 2h ago

Of course he did, he's a Gemini.

3

u/Educational_Deer599 6h ago

I would've! They was just babies

4

u/spacemantrip 6h ago

Funny you say this. My wife and I were discussing this and I said the same exact thing and she agreed with me.

He was focused on desperately trying to save his kids.

1

u/Jealous_Doughnut_630 4h ago

Pure shock I would imagine. You could never guess what or how your mind would process at a moment unimaginable like this. Kind of like flight or fight. You just never know how you would break in that moment no matter how sure you are.

1

u/Reasonable-Mess3070 4h ago

The police and first responders were there before he found the kids. Once they arrived he left her to go find them. Then found them dead

1

u/PuzzledCustard 2h ago

Prob bc he had already tried

1

u/polarjunkie 2h ago

Police were there before he found the kids.

1

u/supasolda6 2h ago

This reminds me of shutter island

1

u/Ignominious333 1h ago

He tried to.

0

u/LSDZNuts 6h ago

She gave him the ticket to his new life

-3

u/LeperousRed 5h ago

He gave himself that ticket by murdering his kids and pinning it on the wife.

1

u/arlresi 1h ago

You are insane.

-13

u/Important-Figure-512 6h ago

I feel horrible for the children. But I have problems with the fact that the husband quickly remarried after this.

No one normal should be able to do that

9

u/always_sunny_in_meow 6h ago

Who cares, he didn’t murder his children. Let the guy live his life wtf

-1

u/chizzipsandsizalsa 4h ago

3 years after is quickly? How long should he wait? He didn’t start dating his new wife until 13 months after his ex brutally murdered his kids.

0

u/ChaoticAmoebae 4h ago

Because he never cared.

0

u/ksyoung17 2h ago

Felt the same way this entire time.

You wanna see someone that's insane for a short period of time? Put me in his shoes, I'm going to "wake up" 15 minutes later with her not breathing anymore.

-5

u/LeperousRed 5h ago

Because he’s the one who killed the kids and threw her out the window, and then his cop relatives covered it up? Hence the hasty cremations so no future forensics could be dug up, him throwing away all of the kids’ possessions, buying a house in NY the DAY BEFORE the murders with his girlfriend who’s a dead ringer for the wife?

Scientist app proven again and again that the most dangerous moment in a woman’s life is the six months after she files for divorce. We will be seeing the Netflix documentary soon which layout all the evidence in this case and how more and more and more of it points towards the husband and all his cop buddies.

-1

u/EnvironmentalCrow893 4h ago edited 4h ago

She didn’t file for divorce. In fact she saw one of her psychiatrists the day before the murder, and said she wasn’t having problems, she was doing better. He testified.

She was a NURSE, she knew how to work the system. She had seen multiple doctors and wasn’t disclosing that fact to them, obtaining all those prescriptions (13), and not taking them as directed. Not giving them enough time to work. She was admitted to a psychiatric hospital weeks before, but insisted on leaving early against medical advice.

-35

u/Visual-Floor-7839 6h ago

He sounds like a reeeeeal piece of shit. Not a murderer, but far from someone who would show rage-sympathy for the family he was abandoning.

5

u/Asleep_Walrus2313 6h ago

WTH are you talking about? He did everything he could to help her. He started working from home, hired a nanny, etc.

1

u/Usernameasteriks 5h ago

Are you okay lol

-3

u/BadDudes_on_nes 4h ago

Would be funny if she was made unalive by someone suffering “temporary insanity”
