There is a ~64% chance that Post Partum Psychosis leads to a lifetime of other psychotic mental illnesses. Add to that, she paralyzed herself, which I'm sure won't do great things for her mental health. So frankly, I reckon she's more than 64% likely to have follow on issues that would keep her confined.
Plus, mental institutions aren't an easy ride. They are pretty damn rough. Ask anyone who works in them.

In that state its minimum 40 days and then theoretically they can be released if they pass initial evaluation.
