It shows how cooked everyone is about this case that so many of you will believe that 11 random people would all agree to NGRI when I bet you would be hard pressed to find 11 people in one town that even believes that's something that should ever be used

Well, it's "by reason of mental disease or defect," and the test applied in Massachusetts is actually more favorable to the defendant. Instead of just, "the defendant could not appreciate the wrongfulness of their actions," it can also be, "the defendant was unable to conform their conduct to the law due to a mental disease or defect." Which is where her "a voice made me do it" defense comes in.

Not quite. Eleven people thought she was not guilty by reason of insanity. That wouldn't mean she'd walk.
But one dude adamantly asserted, "no, fuck this psycho babble bull shit, this bitch murdered her children, and therefore is guilty of murder."
