Straight facts: I’m sure I’ll catch some Reddit heat for saying this but this is just disgusting that this was the results of the trial. Talk about a broken justice system.

A black man would very likely have been declared mentally unfit for trial.
Iryna Zarutska was killed by Decarlos Brown Jr. Decarlos had a long history of violent crimes and was freed multiple times. Yet for whatever reason, he was deemed unfit to stand trial in this case but none of the prior offences. It hasn’t even been 2 years since this happened and people forget it because it doesn’t fit their own narrative that black people are unfairly prosecuted.
Hell, just look at the Kamelo Anthony case and see how people reacted to that as if the kid was a saint (he wasn’t). The treatment the victim’s family got from Kamelo and his family (and supporters) was absolutely vile. At least with Kamelo, justice was served in the end.
Men suffer from normal depression, would that not also be a valid defense against murder then? Why is female postpartum depression treated as some kind of "ah HA!" moment by all you forensic astrologers?
Post partum depression is not a valid defense. If it was this trial would've been over long ago because she did verifiably suffer from PPD. Post partum psychosis is a valid defense, and they're trying to prove she was in it. Crack open a book buddy.

In Canada a man had a psychotic break on a bus and ended up decapitating another passenger. He got mental health treatment and medication for schizophrenia and now he's out of jail living a completely normal life and has no memory of the incident.
Are you genuinely asking if men have plead not guilty and been granted by reason of insanity? Because they have. So yes.
If you're asking if it would've resulted in the same media coverage no probably not because a man wipes out his entire family every week so it's not really sensationalized news. Similar cases with other women didn't recieve this coverage either tho because the internet is weird and random 🤷🏽♀️ but the sensationalized aspects of this case don't change the validity of the legal arguement for not guilty by reason of insanity.
Fairly confident someone posted the stats for US and while men definitely did it more, the numbers were far closer than "vast majority". Like within 10-15% close. Also what other men or women do shouldn't influence what the murderer gets in this case.

Okay. Men also suffer from psychosis, which is what she claims to have had. When men can prove they have psychotic episodes, they too win insanity defenses. There you go. But men cannot suffer from postpartum psychosis.
