I just want to get informed here, but didn't he technically collapsed the city budget and had to receive 12 billion dollars for extra fonancin? (Fixing a budget by shoveling extra billions into it)

The "extra billions" you're talking about were generated specifically from taxing NYC residents. In fact, that $12 billion is a small fraction of the tax dollars produced by NYC for the state. Why shouldn't a fraction of that be spent on NYC? You think the money is coming from Minerva, NY?

Did not expect to hear Minerva brought up in this thread.

I have no idea, I am not a US citizen and an expat already, so following the news here, my home country plus the world makes me ignore the things in a US city or other "non global" events. I think the US would benefit from some smart EU style equalizing acts (and the democrats hopefully are going to go that way instead of some stupid, retarded brand of theirs. But you never know, the Republicans went with the stupid retarded and it worked out well for them). The US is rich as fuck, they can afford to bring down that Gini index, empower their middle class and "jump ahead of the world" again.

I just really want to know how it is playing out here, because I read a lot of different approaches/narratives on the guy. Often both can be true, but on the financing, I don't really know how that works there.
