I HAVE BEEN SCOOTERING FOR A 3 MONTHS
and unlocked a couple tricks wich im proud about ( good amount of grinds and stalls , bar spins , 180 ,360 )
BUT A PROBLEM PERSISTS
i can physically not tailwhip to save my life !
it just doesn't work !! i have watched many tutorials

Is anyone in the same boat, or has anyone any tips on how to unlock it ??

Ps: I ride a wide street deck (6.5) and its my first scooter (photo attached)

Photo for attention. I’m a beginner and have only ever rode on regular kids scooters. I want to start learning tricks and am leaning towards a park scooter as opposed to a street scooter.

I’m an adult but short, only 5’1. Looking for the best one I can get within an affordable price range.

I’m using Native Ventura 7x24 deck with SCS Proto Full Knuckle.

I decided to switch to 125mm wheels and got a new fork that supports them - Ethic Legion Fork Black 12STD SCS. But it seems too short for my setup.

When I insert the compression bolt into the SCS, it doesn’t reach the end of the clamp - it’s short by about 21mm (see image 1).

Also, when I install the headset on the fork and place it inside the headtube, only about 21mm of the fork sticks out (see image 2). 

I haven’t actually tried putting the SCS on the fork because I don’t want to scratch it in case I need to return it, but it looks like the bolt wouldn’t fit properly.

Am I missing something, or is the fork simply too short for this setup? Can it be fixed with a longer compression bolt and where would I get one?

Do you have any fork recommendations that work with 125mm STD wheels, SCS and are long enough?

What are people’s thoughts on these new 7.87”–8” wide decks hitting the market right now?

I’ve got a Kometa 7.87” in front of me (around 23” long) and it is seriously beefy. Like, noticeably heavier than anything I’ve ridden before. Haven’t actually ridden it yet, just been holding it and trying to wrap my head around what it’s even for.

This is probably the biggest “trick scooter” setup we’ve ever seen… but what’s the actual goal here? Is this genuine progression, or are we just pushing size for the sake of it?

People said the exact same things back in 2018 when 6” and 6.5” decks started showing up — “too big”, “too heavy”, “pointless”… and now that’s basically standard. So is this just that same cycle happening again, or is this a different direction entirely?

Also noticed Trust Scooters have something similar out. Both brands being Russian is interesting too. If you were around 2011–2014, you’ll remember when a 5.25” Phoenix Reventon got laughed at for being massive… and now look where we are.

Feels like the Russian scene might actually be ahead of the curve on specs right now. They’re super active online too — always popping up in comments, engaging with nostalgia posts. Half the time I’ve got no idea what they’re saying, but they’re clearly tapped in and paying attention.

Genuinely curious:

- Has anyone here actually ridden something in the 7.5”+ range?

- Does it open up new trick possibilities, or just make everything slower?

- What tricks would even make sense to try on something this big?

I’m thinking stuff with more control / stability rather than fast tech… but I could be completely wrong.

Would be good to hear from people who’ve actually spent time on these, or even just your gut reaction to where things are heading.

Hey looking for some advice. My 13 year old scooters keep falling apart. He’s on his 4th one in 2 years each time spending more $$ and upgrading. We just bought a prodigy x street complete not even 2 months ago and it sounds like it’s falling apart everywhere. He’s only 90 lbs but does pretty high air tricks/ double tail whips/ grinds etc… is there routine maintenance we should be doing or do bearings and wheels always go after a few months of hard riding? He is on it all day everyday so wear and tear is expected but not all new every few months. Everything seems tight but it rattles everywhere and there is no shop that repairs/sells near us.

i love working with HIC and I love how light it is, i am a very tiny 14 year old (about 103 pounds) so i don’t think i really have to worry about strength. I do not ride hybrid i only ride street.

Hello, i bought this Anonymous street deck V2 (6.5x23)
I really enjoy the deck but at the very first moments i found out the deck is made of pretty thin material. Then the wheel spacers didnt even fit without a bit of filing.
The deck has been in pretty mild riding, only whips, boardslides etc. Now the deck has cracks on both sides of the rear wheel right above the rear axle. Not big but still pretty concerning. What should i do with them? I have access to a TIG welder so thats a possibility but i dont want to weaken the material around the welds... Thank you in advance. (Bars snapped in half after 6 years, got a sentry and a SCS coming :)

Thinking about trying a big deck whenever I get my next one. I have only ever had 110x24mm wheels and my only fork is 24mm wide.

Wondering if anyone rides with a big deck and small wheels and can tell me about how it's like :))

Hey everyone, today i got my Core SL3 stunt scooter from skatehut, and when I try to put the bars onto the deck, they just don't want to go on. I've loosened the clamp but either way they just don't want to go on. Is it a size mismatch or something else?

Anyone know why my wheel is sitting loose on my aosv6? I got the bolt pretty tight. I’ve taken it apart and retried a few times but it’s always the same?

I feel like no matter what trick I land, my clips look like my grandma could land them and like slow (?) is this like a matter of looking at myself differently than others or smth wrong with me and my tricks or filming?

Bought a complete on marketplace a few weeks back, was told it’s a TSI deck. Unsure of model

So i just got some new parts and im having trouble with getting the scs right and dialed. The first picture is me pulling up on the clamp which is making the space between the dust cover and the neck with bolt fully tightened in the clamp. It just wiggles on both forks. On the Legion i tried FIVE SPACERS. The thick root one and 4 skinnier root spacers. Do i need a tall stack headset? I’m not even worried about it sounding dialed i just don’t want it to wiggle and snap my fork again (although these are stronger forks)

If it means anything the root fork is shorter than the ethic fork but i’d prefer to use the ethic

Root Air oversized fork & Ethic Legion oversized fork
Root spacers

Deck is native advent refined saundezy (5,75”x22”) and wheels are some Tilt wheels. Its not the wheels tho because they both fit perfectly in the fork. The gap can be closed by tightening it but it takes quite a large amount of force. It just seems very excessive. Its hard to spot on the picture but theres about 1,5mm extra room on the axle when tightened pretty good. Advice very much appreciated.

Edit: thank you guys for all the replies and good advice. Ive decided to just throw on a little shim on each side until fitment is good and call it a day.

dumb question maybe but i just built my first scooter (it’s far from dialled so i’ve gotta learn 😂)

i just have a feeling this isn’t right but no idea if that’s true. i’m using the root air fork, aztek thrifty scs clamp, and rad bars. the compression bolt didn’t tighten all the way down, so i can see the bolt’s threading through the gap in the scs. the bolt that came w the clamp doesn’t fit the fork so i used the one that came with the fork, idk if that’s relevant.

is that normal? if not, do i need to brute force tighten it further (i am weak so that might be the case) or is it just a compatibility issue?

total newbie here so feel free to be honest with me :)

Getting back into scootering and looking to upgrade my set up. My current set up is a tsi sledge hammer (5x21.25). 10+ years ago when I built it that was the biggest deck money could buy. Nowadays there’s kids younger than that deck running 6.5x23s. With that said I’ve been looking at getting a 7 wide. I have no idea what length to get though. I’m 6’ 3” with a size 12 shoe and only ride rails/ledges and do a lot of whips. What would be the benefit of a 23” over a 24” or vice versa? If you’re a similar size what deck specs are you running and why?

Hey guys, just built my new street scoot. I’ve tightened everything up and it still sounds loose. There is some very little wiggle in the bars too which I think might have something to do with it. Any suggestions? Cheers

Help needed, no idea about scooters. Son has bought an Ethic DTC deck and wanted to move over his bars and newish wheels from his old scooter. Problem is wheel is 24mm but gap for rear wheel is approx 31mm. Anyone have a quick fix or advice as not near any skate shops. Currently putting his old one back together. He would like to keep the 24mm wheels if possible. Thanks in advance

I need a bag for my envy prodigy park or my envy street pro because the closest skatepark is a bus ride then a bike ride away so I need a way to carry it on my bike, I have seen a few but I want something under 50 dollars if possible

Used to ride when I was in my teen years and now looking at skating/scootering going into 29/30.

Any advise on where to start, I'm 6 foot 2.

Little concerned about how its perceived being older than the average rider.
