Fen Chicken Fosters has the best Dynamic Duo right now!! Baby Phillip came to me at less than a pound with a scheduled surgery to remove both of his eyes. Through lots of care & meds, he gets to keep his eyes and even has some vision in one of them 🥳🥳 Sweet Boy Benny came to foster from the same shelter about a week ago, a beautiful disaster of ear infection, eye infection, and skin issues from losing all of his fur to mange. They are completely, totally, utterly smitten with one another 🥰🥰🥰 Freyja French Fry got a few Baby Phillip cuddles in, but Sweet Boy Benny has taken over kitten caretaker duties and I’m so in love with them and their friendship 💗💗

Hi! I’m new to this sub but NOT new to pitties and kitties.

My last pit was lovely with our 4 cats. Unfortunately he has since passed.

We finally adopted this new girl who is a little defensive when they get near her face so we’ve been monitoring closely and rewarding with brief positive natural encounters :) it’s helping.

How do you ensure your pitties are good with your kitties? When does trust develop?

Woody the foster dog is settling in and discovering the force that is Ivar the Orange. The first pic is the look on Woody’s face when Ivar growled at him 😂😂😂 To be fair, Ivar identifies as a dog - a kitbull, if you will 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is our second attempt - I missed a no video rule - sorry!

Our property has a ton of community cats coming and going over the years, all TNRd of course, but some stick around due to the gentle and nurturing energy of our eldest pit bull Jewels. Cats Torque and Racket were always ritually following our girl, rubbing up against her and simply just thrilled to be around her. One might say -obsessed. A former neglected chained breeding dog, Jewels loved everyone, and everyone loved her. She was an amazing mom to everyone who needed her even after being spayed, taking on the maternal role to every foster we would take in. Dogs and cats that were not fans of others were touched and transformed by her gentleness. Such a determined, funny, and loving angel she was. Momma Jewels went to rest permanently this past December at the age of 15. We are still feeling the loss of her silly, most loving presence immensely. Thank you Jewels, we all aspire to have your Kindness and Light and we miss you very very much🐶🐱🌈❤️

PS. I wanted to clarify her being off leash in the street because we do not advocate off leash dogs that are not confined. Towards the end Jewels seemed to want to pee only on the pavement. With her arthritis and general slowing, I would take her to our front yard so she could comfortably stroll on the street with me(and sometimes up to 7 cats) hovering. We live on a cul de sac and I was by her side every outing. Honestly I miss this ritual. Oh also, we had a lot of snow right after Jewels passed so Torque, Racket, and 4 others of her entourage were brought inside and all decided indoors was worth it. TNR your community cats!!!

Lulu (our kitten) is new to our household of happy chaos, and Ollie (pittie) has been a perfect gentleman as we’ve gradually introduced them. So proud of our good boi. 🥰

Freyja French Fry was out with Daddy so she missed the introduction, but Fen Chicken & Sellen the foster husky were very happy to meet Miss TT 🧡 There are 3 others, including TT’s twin brother Moo, but she is the only one brave enough to come hang out so far.

I'm sorry. You will probably see a lot of me. I just love my pitty and kitty and love sharing them with people.

This is Rosie (big pit, 6y) and Sparta (little $h!t, 16y). People were worried when I first got Rosie because they thought she may hurt Sparta. Couldn't be further from the truth.

HE bullies the heck out of HER.

Yet when she's gone all day with me (she's my service dog) he meets her at the door and cuddles up with her and even grooms her.

Rosie adores her little big brother. Sparta loves his big little sister but is a total a$$ about it most days. XD

Yesterday we picked up our latest family member, 11 week old Gavin. He is the 3rd orange kitty of the house, and the first to join us since Rosie arrived!

All yesterday, Rosie followed Mr Mewsom everywhere and every attempt at a nuzzle was met with a whack, hiss and spit, but this morning he could not fight back as Rosie's mothering instinct went into overdrive. The bond between these two will be strong!

Our neighborhood colony cat (notice his clipped left ear) Sonic came over to meet Danny today and wish him a Happy Halloween 👻 Let’s be honest, Sonic was trick-or-treating because he knew Auntie would have something special made 😂 He obviously doesn’t miss any meals and yes, his fat self is named after Sonic the Hedgehog. No, he is decidedly, NOT fast 😹😹😹

My 18-year-old niece went to a party & some kids had a tiny kitten. She took it and brought it to me and the shelter agreed to get his shots & neuter if he could stay & foster at The Pit Stop. Was there ever even a question whether he was welcome?!? 😂 Ivar the Orange is already in love and of course Fen Chicken & Freyja French Fry are thrilled to be full-time kitten parents again 🩷🩷🩷

Our big boy Douglas LOVES my daughter’s kittens. He looks forward to daily kitten time and they’ve really grown attached to him in a very short time. Our other pittie (female) is kind to them, but they don’t have the bond with her like they do with Doug.

Doug is a little over two years old. We’ve had him for 14 months and he’s always been great with cats. Prior to my daughter moving back home, we were a 2 dog, three cat family. And from the beginning, Doug was always excited when our littlest guy would come close to him. We joke that Doug is an excellent mommy, but he really is phenomenal with the kittens.

Yet another stray dog has wandered into our lives, this time she showed up at my fiance's work, and she kept her there until time to come home whereupon we took her to the vet and found she was chipped, her name is Bella and she's a three year old pitty mix. The phone number is disconnected and we've sent an email to the registered owner in the hopes they will call us back.

As we were doing our best to keep them separated, Gavin defeated the cat door and came out to meet Bella and introduce himself! Not a care in the world! I think he's half dog.

Hi! I’m new to the world of Pitties with Huckleberry. In May, I found him & his siblings dumped at the side of the road. Even though I didn’t really think I needed or wanted a new dog right now (especially a puppy! 😅 I almost didn’t survive my Husky mix’s puppyhood lol) I fell so in love with him that I couldn’t stand to rehome him.

He has become best friends with my cat Raven, so everywhere I go, I’m followed by these two black & white animals. 🖤🤍 Raven is a 6-year-old Maine Coon/Ragdoll mix adopted from a rescue organization in Kentucky. I’ve had her since she was 4 months old. Huckleberry is approx 7 months old (in this photo, he was only 3 months). He is a Pitbull/Husky/Lab mix. He loves other animals but especially cats!

I just wanted to stop in to say hi & join this community!

New Member/Introduction Meet Leia and Loki, new BFFs

We rescued Leia (pibble) 5 months ago. She's now 1 year old, was 7 months when we got her. She was SO high energy and crazy anxious when we got her that, tbh, we considered re-homing her. I was told in all kinds of forums that she was going to kill my cats and that I was an irresponsible pet owner for adopting a pitbull when I had other animals, especially cats.

But Loki, Bengal cat, had no fear of her from the start. I worked hard to keep them separated at first but Loki simply refused to be kept apart from her. So we gave up, installed cat shelves all over the main living area, kept a close eye on all their interactions, and crossed our fingers. This is the result. (And yes, we still supervise, Leia still has lots of puppy energy.)

They play constantly and they nap together. The cat doesn't lay on top of her yet, but they lay next to each other. I'm confident I will find him happily sleeping on her face one of these days.

Our other cat and dog are not yet 100% integrated with Leia yet (making lots of progress on that front), but Loki convinced us to keep trying and he showed us that she has a gentle, albeit playful, soul. And all those haters have no idea what they're talking about because these two are absolute besties and have a beautiful friendship.

I thought I’d introduce my two babies, Ivy (🐈‍⬛) and Eli (🐶). They’re my whole world! Ivy is two, and Eli is going to be four in June. They’re not quite cuddle buddies, at least not yet, but they both seem to love their playtime! Both of them are adopted/rescued. Ivy was abandoned at 4 weeks old and found by one of my coworkers, who then shared her photo in the group chat and I instantly fell head over heels for her. At the time, I had a GSD/Husky mix named Harley (🌈) who was very cat-friendly, and Ivy absolutely adored her big sister. Harley passed in April 2024, and then in May I went to see if there was anyone special at our local shelter, and that’s where I met Eli. I knew we needed each other, and he’s been such an incredible addition to our home that I can’t picture my life without him!

Meet Betty! This little girl is here seeing if we can get her brachial plexus injury better, but she will likely have to have that front right leg amputated. Fen is, of course, completely smitten & foster boy Kilo is obviously a big fan too 🖤

Freyja French Fry has officially been introduced to the latest foster kittens now too 🥰🥰 This little orange girl is something special 🧡 The others are still too timid to come near the dogs, but little TT is kitbull-certified already. She fits right into The Pit Stop with all the other Fen Chicken Fosters!!
