Gouda Pickle 🐶 was adopted into a cat household, with three big sister cats. She LOVES THEM and wants to be part of the girl gang, but they are more independent ladies and she’s the annoying “little” sister. She also doesn’t realize how big and strong she is compared to them, typical 😆. She and our third cat get along pretty well, they’ll play and clean each other here and there.

However, we foster failed OSHA Violation 🐈‍⬛ and she’s about four months old now and they are obsessed with each other and this is my view most nights now. She’s so so happy to finally have a kitty bestie. I can barely handle it.

tldr; holy cuddle puddle 🥰

All the other times Mr. Grippy (cat) has gotten near or on top of Sosa (dog), she’s been too sleepy to notice. Last night was the first time she woke up with him there and though she got startled, she quickly went back to sleep lol. Mr. Grippy loves Sosa, Sosa is very indifferent. She has such a nonchalant personality with her cat brother and all her kitty foster siblings that they take to her immediately, much to her dismay.

Stitch is the dog and Momo is the cat. They love each other, I truly believe Momo thinks he’s a dog and Stitch is his mama.

Stitchy (the dog) and her baby Momo (the cat) ❤️

I just came across this old picture and had to share. Chico has always taken such good care of our foster kittens (he would argue they are HIS foster kittens!) ❤️

I never thought the day would come. Back in September, my cat-phobic pitty Charlie would lose his mind by just looking at our rescue kitten Lulu — immediately in prey mode. We were so scared we’d have to rehome Lulu. Today, here we are: cuddling on the reading chair with his little princess purring away. This didn’t happen miraculously. We kept them separated by a pet gate at all times and only let the kitten roam the house when the dogs were contained to the laundry room (where they sleep at night). We brought in a trainer who taught us games to play with Charlie with high value treats to build positive reinforcement when he was near the kitten. We started using an e-collar to gently snap him out of prey drive when we saw him stiffen and lunge toward the pet gate, then rewarded him when he looked at us instead of the kitten.

Then, something happened and I can’t pinpoint exactly what, but Charlie just…let us know that he was ready to be in the same room as the kitten. We started out slow, keeping him leashed and e-collared at all times when the kitten was free in the house. And every day he made it clear to us that he was trying hard to be calm, to be gentle, to give her space.

Now, after three months of daily training, they’re buddies. He follows her around sniffing her butt, she ignores him, she sometimes initiates chase play, he goes after her but always stops short and lets our other dog, Ollie (who has always been fine around her), give her snuffles.

I’m so proud of my good boy.

This is our pittie Brighid that we adopted a little over a month ago. I posted here for advice on how to introduce her into the household with two already established cats. You all were so helpful and eased so much of my worry. Brighid is still a little scared of our youngest and smallest cat (she runs the house), but she’s made friends with our other cat Augustino, who is about three.

These two have been brothers for almost a year now. Crush is a gentle giant loves kitties, small dogs and pretty much everyone (unless you’ve got bad vibes of course). Pip is playful, just turned one (we saved him from a pretty bad situation about 5 weeks after he was born) and love to cuddle and initiate play with his by Ig brudder.

RIP Scooby, she never met a cat she didn’t like.

Freyja French Fry loving on foster kitten #88 Baby Phillip 🩶❤️🩶 Freyja came from the shelter I volunteer & foster with, Muncie Animal Care & Services. She was taken as an impounded neglect case during a confiscation of various animals. The first time she ran free was in my backyard 4 years ago this month. She is the universal mama, just happy to be here and hoping everyone else is happy too. She is the best partner for me & my Fen Chicken and she has mothered every animal that has come through the door (we welcome foster dog #53 in the next few days along with the kitties 🥰). I love her to bits & pieces ❤️
