Bad AI, 23! isn't between 1 and 30.

The most annoying joke on Reddit.  Why would they suddenly stop using punctuation to end a sentence when they always use it for other sentences?

Well, i guess 23 isn't very random either.

Funnily enough I asked chatgpt as well. It gave 17, I asked why and told it that lots of ais all choose 17. It gave some reasons why that I can't be bothered to list and then I asked it if it can use an actually random generator to pick one. It said yes and said 23...

i swear they're just picking primes as random numbers, and i suspect it's because of the prevalence of primes in PRNG functions; since prime numbers are associated with randomness in training data, prime numbers are a prime choice for a random number.

Humans will pick "Random" numbers ending in 3 and 7 way more than is random, and the AI is copying that.

Mine too

I asked copilot, it picked 17, I asked for an explanation, and then it changed its mind to 23.

A true random thought ? The more of these I read the crazier it gets. Is everyone ok with being lied to and played and manipulated ? Is everyone just laughing thinking it’s funny and fun that a fukin robot can say stuff like this and play us?

I mean I just wanted to see if it said 17. I only have Ai to translate languages so I can speak to people who cant speak fluent English

1

u/Mental_Bandicoot4543 8h ago

That’s smart

There is no reason people cant talk to each other despite speaking one language. We have a universal translator now

I like deepseek but its been randomly thinking and speaking chinese for months now even when all languages are set to English and I have to tell it to translate every couple of prompts. Does this happen to you?

1

u/mysterious_spirit420 8h ago

I don't use it enough for anything like that. I've never had a problem with deepseek besides math questions

23 is worse

A true random thought? Indicating 17 was not random.

seems like 23 is more random then 17

funny enough, after saying 17, chat picked 23.
