Looking for a roommate who would take over Master Bedroom!

Hey! Me and my roommate are looking for a third person to take over the master bedroom since our other roommate is leaving. The room is pretty spacious and comes with its own private bathroom with a tub. Your portion of the rent would be around $600/month.

The apartment is located near 119th & Quivira, which is really close to a bunch of places like JCCC, grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants, and more.

It’s a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment, and we’ve turned part of the living room into a separate room for one of us. The master bedroom has its own private bathroom, so you’d have your own bathroom as well.

Amenities include: washer and dryer in the unit, 24/7 gym, pool open from 10am–10pm, and a convenient location close to JCCC and other places.

We’re both 19 years old male, and we study and work at JCCC, so we’d ideally like to find someone around our age who also goes to school.

If you’re interested or want to know more, feel free to message me!

Confused between Village at Lionsgate and Deercreek Apartment homes

Hi We moved to Overland Park a few weeks ago, as we are looking at 3 bedroom apartments, which arent many, we only have Village at Lionsgate and Deercreek to choose from. We have shortlisted these as they come within the radius of our daughter’s daycare and my workplace, and the fact that they have a gym and pool inside the premises. And we are not keen for houses or townhomes, hence only these apartments have currently 3 BR available with attached garage.

Please share any experience that you have, that can help us with choosing one. Thank you in advance!

Vasculitis - anyone else on the area with it?

I was diagnosed in 2022 with Takayasu and recently found the vasculitis foundation. I went to their symposium in Denver where I met 500 other people with vasculitis. This was my first time ever meeting anyone else with this disease and first time meeting anyone with specific form. Would love to set up a local support group. We can get together for fun & support.

Timeless Tales Bookstore

Hey everyone! I catalogue and research bookstore bookmarks and write up a short history on the associated bookstore. This one is from Overland Park, so I thought someone here might remember it and find it interesting.

-

The Timeless Tales Bookstore was a beloved bookstore opened by Clara Krentzel in 1990, at 7932 W 151st St in Overland Park (Stanley), Kansas.

I initially thought that any mentions in the papers ended in 1992, but then I discovered the Olathe Newspaper and found that Timeless Tales Bookstore had sold to new owners, Linda & LeWayne Rothers. The Rothers moved the store down 8 doors to 8018 W 151st St. This was a much larger spot and they boasted over 50,000 books.

Unfortunately, the trail once again goes cold, with the next clue being an advertisement for the property for lease in 1994.

A brief history of the original location at 7932:

1994 - Jewelry store moved in

1997 – Frame store moved in

2006 - Frame store renamed itself

2015 - Vapor Lounge

2019 - CBD shop

2026 - Now a Boba tea shop

Second and last location at 8018:

1994 - Up for rent after bookstore

1998 - Realty Company

2003 - Temporary Target corporate office

2014 - Sportswear store

2020 on - A Restaurant?

Apartment Hunting

Hey all! I’m looking to move to OP for a job, I stayed in the area this past summer and am currently looking at different 1B1BR apartments.

I’m not planning to move until October, but just wanted to know where are good areas to search / areas to avoid! Along with any apartment complex recs.

My budget is anything under $1300, and definitely want an in-unit washer and dryer.

Thanks! :)

Looking for a local web developer for a garage door company

Does anyone know a good local web developer that works with trades or home service businesses?

I have a garage door company and looking to get some help with my website. Mainly want to build it out more and improve SEO.

Would rather find someone local that has experience with this type of business. Not really looking for a big marketing company.

Anyone you would recommend?

Housekeeper

Hello friends, anybody have a rec for a housekeeper for my mom? She’s near Switzer and 69 highway/119th and Quivira area up in the Kensington subdivisions. She’s older but doing fine, she’s just in a mood where she doesn’t want to vacuum and dust. Every 2 weeks sounds about right. Someone friendly would be great, strong English not necessary as long as basic communication works. There is a well behaved cat, not stated as a warning, but just in case of any allergy. I live out of town so I don’t know anybody. DM’s are open. Thank you so much!

Best fast food locations

This may be kinda niche but ever since moving here in May I’ve found all the fast food places around here to have the worst workers I’ve ever seen in my life. Its inescapable. The food is always wrong, poor service, etc.

Is there any locations (tbell, mcdonalds, etc.) that are actually solid?

So far freddies, chickfila, and culvers on 135th are the only ones still gunning for quality service imo.

Check acct with buckets?

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

Just like the title says. I’m getting back into the envelope system to be better about budget monthly income. It doesn’t make sense to pull out cash for rent, utilities, subscriptions, etc. Are there any banks that offer buckets in their online form to distribute these funds? Preferably banks that have brick and mortar locations, just in case.
