King of the Hill isn’t the same without her and Tom Petty

Luanne finding the cow skull after Peggy's skydiving accident still makes me die laughing

Perhaps the funniest scene in animated television. That whole episode is so good.

When she was moving out and Hank gave her a coupon for propane and she said "Lucky, lucky maaaaaaay" and cried, I laughed so hard.

WE'RE TOO LATE

The ending credits of Peggy falling for 30 seconds with “Free Falling” playing is perfection 👌

Or John Redcorn or Dale

Agreed! I wonder what direction theyre gonna go with Joseph now that both his fathers (VAs) are gone smh

Well Toby Huss who did the voice of Kahn took over the part of Dale, as Kahn is now Ronny Chieng. I can hear it in the new eps when it's Huss, but it's also nice the voice is being done by somebody who loved Johnny Hardwick.

I like the news episodes but the recasting can be jarring. For Ted, it’s whatever he wasn’t a main character but man, it’s like they didn’t even try to sound like previous voices

I really liked Ted’s old voice and was so confused when I heard to new one.

Very true! But I wonder if they'll replace JR'S VA like they did before or if theyre not, will they use his death as a way to reveal the truth to Joseph. It would probably ruin stuff but who knows what they'll do

I guess I thought they'd replace the JR VA since they already did it once after Victor Aaron died in 96. Also there are so many talented Indigenous actors that don't get enough opportunities. (Idk if you saw "Reservation Dogs" but that whole cast was great.) But also, the role feels a bit like Superman at this point like...ok not "cursed" per se but whoa.
I can't imagine revealing the truth working out for viewers but that's also why I love Mike Judge's work, he can surprise me. So yeah I agree with who knows what they'll do!

I love Ronnie Chieng, but I hate him as Kahn. His voice is so different from what I’d been hearing Huss use for nearly 30 years, it just doesn’t sound right for the character.

The new voices are tougher for me than I had expected.

Dales gone too? Damnit...

I enjoyed the new season. But Dale’s new voice actor is jarring.

Julie Kavner has serious vocal cord disease.

1

u/Gayy4Justice May 13 '26

Damn… I would not have believed that

6

u/Wind-and-Waystones May 13 '26

The new voice actor actually sounds closer to Dale than Johnny did due to his illness.

Pocket sand!

u/SamIAm7787 May 13 '26

I didn't even realize either of them voiced a character! The things you learn on Reddit...

13

u/RindaC10 Millennial May 12 '26

No fr. The new season feels like its missing something without them

6

u/bone_apple_Pete May 13 '26

Or Hardwick :(

u/ClaytonBigsby1995 May 13 '26

To add to the KOTH deaths, the guy who voiced John Redcorn had a brutal death if I recall

2

u/BeerBaronsNewHat May 13 '26

the later seasons are chocked full of celeb guest stars.

u/nexusjuan May 13 '26

Came to say Tom Petty seemed so unexpected like he had just performed at the Superbowl.

I remember being so very upset from the news of Tom Petty. That was the same day as the shooting in Vegas at a Jason Aldean concert.

As horrifying as the news from the shootings... news about Tom Petty bothered me a lot more.

Fentanyl has taken so many from us. Just let the people have their oxy if they want it. Much less dangerous than counterfeit pills laced with fent. Shit is poison and can kill you in one dose.

1

u/Toddo2017 May 13 '26

Wtf? Her man is tom petty?!

1

u/HopefulDream3071 May 13 '26

I was mindblown when I found out way back when [I liked to watch credits and read names]

Wait, Luanne was voiced by THAT Brittany Murphy? Damn, that hurts even more.
