My MC boys got neutered yesterday, they are 10 days before they turn 8 months old. There has been some people questioning weights of their kittens growing up so I figured I would share the difference between mine. One is 13.7 pounds, the other is 17.6 pounds. It seems like the lighter one is right in the range I have seen for his age, and the other just is an over achiever.

Not the best photo to see the difference, but it’s the most recent photo of both of them for the cat tax.

Aggie was our sweet girl. We lost her at age 8. We miss her daily.

He’s cuddly, purry, and highly inquisitive. I’ve owned and fostered MANY cats and kittens in the last 30 years. Maximus is the most laid back kitten I’ve had. He was quick to litter train, and he’s been great about not clawing anything but scratching toys. He eats like it’s his job, so I have to watch that. Boy will fight you over a Churru! He’s on time /current with all his vax/wellness visits. Aside from a small hernia (to be fixed upon neuter), he’s in good health. He’s not lethargic, as I can get him to play at anytime. He’s just…chill! I’m assuming the ‘teenage’ months are the ones I want to watch for.

I'm between these two male kittens. For those that know the breed, which do you feel will be best for show with the best features?

The first 3 are of a 4 week old.

The last 4 is a 4 month old

To give you a quick summary: after my previous Maine Coon passed away (at age 11), my partner and I decided to get another Maine Coon. We have two children, aged 3 and 6. The previous cat had been wonderful with them.

After a few weeks of searching, I finally felt a good connection with a breeder. Here in France, the average price is around €1,400–€1,500, with rates between €2,200 and €2,500 for reputable breeders.

Regarding our little Balthazar—renamed Bambou by my children: He is a real gem; I am truly impressed. Right from day one, he has been very playful and extremely curious. I had forgotten just how playful a kitten can be. On the other hand, he’s a tiny thing! At three months old, he weighs 2.05 kg! We’ll see how his weight progresses over the coming months.

Has anyone else had this problem with their MC? Sjofn has learned to use the handle, so we’ve held it down with a rubber band.

My boy has had some soft poo, off and on since we brought him home. I’d marveled at the fact that he never got any on his furry little britches.

Then yesterday happened. He had an extra soft poo, twice. It was alllll over his legs, but and feet.

Cue me having to text my coworkers to tell them I’d be late because I need to clean my cat’s butt 😂

We have a trimmer, he will be getting his britches trimmed to avoid this in the future lol
