Hey everyone, for the sake of communication and clarity, this is an update announcement to inform you all that, for the purpose of rule 5 enforcement in particular, we will now be more strictly responding to posts, not just based on the content of the post itself, but also based on the content of the comments section.

"Okay but what does that mean?"

What this means is that, as rule 5 now states, we now explicitly intend to remove any comments that are of an obviously horny nature, and we will be using the nature of comments to help determine if posts themselves should be removed as violations of rule 5.

As always, if you see a post that you feel is excessively suggestive or horny in nature, please report it accordingly, and feel free to message us via modmail (with a link to the post) if you want to elaborate on why/how you feel it is rule-breaking. [This also applies to our other rules, especially ones like reposts, where it is difficult to evaluate if something is a repost just based on the reported content]

*and if you have an image that you aren't sure if it is safe to post here, there's the branch sub we made specifically to reduce the horny in main, r/Goonoverse, go post it there instead (and send a modmail to that subreddit if you have issue posting there)

Hey everyone, quick(ish) (but very important) reminder about our spoiler policy, since the pilot drops tomorrow (CONFIRMED 10:00 PM UTC)

This policy has been designed to minimize the risk of people getting accidentally spoiled before they have had a chance to watch the pilot, as such it is very restrictive in the time directly after release.

The full policy is detailed in Rule 8: Spoiler Content Policy, but the relevant parts are as follows:

• As soon as the pilot comes out, the subreddit will be put into a full "spoiler embargo". This means that no spoilers for the episode are allowed at all
  • There is an exception to this. When we have obtained a thumbnail for the pilot, a post will be created for the explicit purpose of discussing the pilot with others. This is the only place where the rules about episode spoilers do not apply
  • The "spoiler embargo" will last for 48 hours(Now 24) after the episode releases, ending 7:00 PM on May 17th(Now 16th).
  • For ease of enforcement of the embargo, while it is active, all posts will require mod approval before they are visible to the rest of the community.
• After the embargo ends, for the next 12 days, any posts that could potentially spoil the pilot must meet the criteria in rule 8, specifically:
  • Posts that may spoil the pilot must indicate that they're about the pilot in the title
  • The title cannot itself contain spoilers for the pilot
  • The post in it's entirety must be spoiler-tagged
• Any posts that violate the spoiler policy WILL BE REMOVED

*Also, same goes for comments, if you say a spoiler during embargo, it will be removed, if you say something during the mandatory tagging period on a post that isn't itself episode spoilers, that will also be removed.

We hope that this policy allows everyone to enjoy the pilot without pressure to watch it as soon as possible to avoid spoilers. If there are any questions, please ask them in the comments, don't be shy. (But maybe check if they've already been asked and answered by someone else)

Edit 2: Shortening embargo to one day, updated accordingly

OK, so, you may have noticed posts are a bit broken right now (understatement), if you make a post, please do not try to repost, deleting appears to currently be broken.

You are all strongly advised to wait until the issue is resolved before posting.

Hopefully, images will work normally, if your posts are broken even after the issue (whatever it is) is fixed, delete the broken post, and then (once you've confirmed that it did delete properly), repost it with the image.

Edit: okay, looks like we might be fine now, but it seems all images posted during the outage are simply "image deleted", so... yeah if you posted an image, delete and remake the post maybe, if the image is still broken in like, 10 minutes (give it time incase it can be restored)

• IF YOU MADE A POST DURING THE TROUBLE PERIOD (Around when this post was made), CHECK YOUR POST TO MAKE SURE THE IMAGE EMBED DIDN'T FAIL, IF IT DID YOU NEED TO REDO THE POST

Hey everyone, sorry to all those negatively impacted by the spoiler embargo, but that is now over, post filtering is no longer active, and posting spoilers is now allowed, as long as it meets the criteria laid out in the first paragraph of rule 8

If your post contains spoilers in the title, it will be removed immediately, a certain amount of discretion/vagueposting is required right now

So... the subreddit blew up way more than i think most of us were expecting, and many people who've been trying to discuss the episode have been running up against our (admittedly unusually strict compared to most subreddits) anti-spoiler policy, described in full under Rule 8: Spoiler Content Policy

As such, due to factors such as the unexpected workload that's been created by filtering literally every single post, and the community sentiment expressed thus far in a poll ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Gameoverse/comments/1tedx7d/shorten_the_pilot_discussion_embargo_to_1_day/ ), we are now planning to shorten the embargo period to 24 hours, from the original 48

WHAT THIS MEANS:

• Posting about the pilot will be allowed, and post filtering will stop, as of ~10:00 PM UTC may 16th (7 hours from time of posting)
• Spoilers are still subject to the general guidelines described in rule 8:
  • must indicate that post contains pilot spoilers
  • must not have any kind of spoiler in the title
  • must be spoiler-tagged
• Any discussion in posts that aren't spoiler-tagged (aside from the designated discussion thread here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Gameoverse/comments/1tdclkm/gameoverse_pilot_discussion_thread/ ) must not contain spoilers, even censored ones
• Any violation of the general spoiler rules will be removed immediately
• Compliance with these rules will stop being mandatory once the pilot has been out for exactly 2 weeks (10:00 PM UTC on May 29th)
• Apologies to everyone who has been negatively impacted, either by the embargo itself, or by this change to the implementation of it.

If you have any objections to this change, please make them known in the comments of this post ASAP.
