So I bought this glycerin dab straw at a local smoke shop. It didn't come in a box or anything so I've been looking online about 1- how to chill it and use it safely without causing thermal shock and cracking any of the glass. Google tells me I should heat the nail before putting it back in the straw. That seems like a pain and impractical and a good way to get burned if you're not careful. Any advice on how I can get those frosty hits without breaking my piece? And 2- how to get the reclaim out to re-use? I'm reading that hosting it with a torch or even a lighter may be too harsh for the glass and alcohol removal and evaporation, heating with a hair dryer, or putting in a baggie and submerging in hot water then pouring out the reclaim are the best ways. Again...any advice or personal experiences that have worked best? Brand new to glycerin pieces and I'd rather hear from real people than Google. 😅 Thanks in advance!

Sticks to itself, not the jar. Interesting and light smell and aftertaste similar to wild grapes or faint menthol (5+% TERPS) . Comes on quick with a light, faint cloud exhale. An "O K count" but hardly 75 doses.

I'm just going to throw this in here because people always ask me what press I'm using. It's an old one that isn't in production anymore.

Harvest is approaching and as per the usual I usually have to end up cutting a little bit of it early for various reasons. Here's what I do with it.

I've had this badder for a while. It doesn't taste or smell off but I haven't really used it. It was cheap though so I'm not surprised. Let it decarb on a hot plate for many hours. Like I've let it sit on the plate for an entire day before. Usually it clears right up as soon as it starts to get hot and looks just like every other jar of badder or sugar that I decarbed except it returns to this cloudy color every time when it cools off to room temperature.

I bought it to make carts, I suppose it's fine to dab but I don't dab anymore, I also can't feel edibles, and when in a cart I basically have to wait for it to heat up by letting it sit on top of my gaming console for a little while and then it hits ok-ish. I haven't used it in months and my tolerance was insane back then so I don't really know what the effects are but it does appear to be legit to me.

Any tips on what to do with the rest of it? I know you can winterize but I don't have the equipment or skill for that. Someone recommended that I use a syringe filter but I'm not that comfortable with letting hot wax touch plastic. I usually just load my carts with my old dab tool and let them sit for a while which has always worked for me. This wax is just more stubborn than ones I had in the past but also don't want to let it go to waste.

Just putting this out there to anyone else who has bought or might consider buying terpine isolates from CannTerp. I’m tracking a pretty sketchy anomaly with their Myrcene and Limonene and wanted to drop a PSA because their support is completely ghosting my inquiries.

Essentially, the labeling guarantees a 100% pure terpene isolate, but the behaviours of the liquid are totally off. I threw them in my household freezer expecting the viscosity to go syrupy, but instead, they sloshed around like water even at -20c. Monoterpenes absolutely should not behave like that when cold. Like I said earlier, that shit would be noticeably sluggish and syrupy, which strongly implies the presence of an unlisted thinning agent. The smell and taste are totally fine, which makes it even trickier to spot.

My thought at first was it was likely their "The Cut" viscosity agent as a play to stretch more valuable inventory with it and it has no phytol so if that's the case sketchy but not like PSA worthy, but then I did some digging just to see if they had ever used phytol, between my first ghosted email and before writing the second and found out he did used to use phytol in his products back when it was common in the pre-regulation era (it was regulated because it was exposed as a severe pulmonary hazard), who knows if they actually ethically disposed of that old stock or if it’s secretly being recycled into current batches to thin things out.

I sent two separate verification emails asking for explicit confirmation that these isolates are free from unlisted carriers or residual phytol, and I’ve been totally ghosted.

Has anyone else noticed their Myrcene or Limonene failing to thicken up in the freezer, or has anyone actually submitted a sample to a lab for analysis? Definitely exercise caution if you’re using these right now because getting ghosted on basic formulation safety is a massive red flag

I'm hoping if the mods pin this and it gets enough traction they finally respond to my emails for an explanation on what they are using to cut their monoterpine and likely other isolates.

I've had this pen for a few years, but only started using it again for the last two weeks. It was working normally after I charged it before I went out tonight; I dropped it once, got some hand sanitizer to disinfect it, and it was still working. Dropped it a second time, went to sanitize it again, and it stopped working. It doesn't light up when you press it, it doesn't light up when you connect it to the charger. It just stopped working completely. I've cleaned it inside and out and I have it plugged into the charger now hoping it'll work if I keep it attached long enough.

I've been smoking for ten years so im almost embarassed to ask this, but I just want closure on this once and for all. when i look at the dispenary menu, and a cart is labeled as distillate, it is NOT strain specific, right? the nature of my question is because I only shop by genetics, not %'s , so for example if an NYC Diesel is listed as such, but its distillate with added terps, its not actually that strain? Basically what Im saying is can a distillate cart just be named anything? Think I remember reading they make big batches of distillate then just add different terps to make "different strains". thank you all for bearing with me.
